Just as the name suggests, it's history, just as the brand heritage itself, is closely linked to Saxony in Germany, where Ferdinand A. Lange started his journey only a few years after the locomotives' launch.

About the Brand

A. Lange & Söhne is a prestigious German watch brand founded in 1845 by Ferdinand Adolph Lange in the town of Glashütte, Saxony. Lange aimed to establish a high-quality watchmaking industry in Germany, inspired by Swiss precision. The company quickly gained recognition for its craftsmanship and innovation, producing pocket watches known for their accuracy and elegance. However, during World War II, the company shifted its focus to producing timepieces for the military. In 1948, after the war, the brand was expropriated by the Soviet government, and watch production ceased. A. Lange & Söhne was revived in 1990, after the reunification of Germany, by Walter Lange, the great-grandson of the founder, with the help of watch industry veteran Günter Blümlein. They reestablished the company as a luxury brand, focusing on mechanical precision and artistry. In 1994, the brand unveiled its first modern collection, including iconic models like the Lange 1, famous for its off-center dial design and "Grossdatum", as well as the Saxonia, the Tourbillon „Pour le Mérite“, and the Arkade.
